Orlando Jones
Chief of Staff & Director of Government Relations
Secure Elections Project

Orlando Jones, Jr. has over a decade of experience in various advocacy arenas. He is a former children’s health lobbyist, U.S. Congressional House and committee staffer, and has held positions on successive presidential campaigns as a GOTV campus organizer and a regional office manager. Orlando is currently the Chief of Staff and Director of Government Relations at the Secure Elections Project. The Secure Elections Project is dedicated to preserving and protecting the sanctity of American elections. Orlando and his team advocate for common sense, nonpartisan election security reforms that prevent hacking and fraud without restricting eligible citizens from accessing the polls. On Thursday, Orlando will provide an overview of its national scope and bipartisan approach to election reform. Participants will learn about the ongoing challenges and the critical importance of maintaining secure and fair elections in today’s political climate.

Stephannie Lewis
Assistant Vice President for Advocacy & Community Impact
Greater Twin Cities United Way

Prior to joining Greater Twin Cities United Way, Stephannie Lewis served as the director of strategic partnerships for Social Impact Strategies Group and was a visiting assistant professor at Macalester College teaching Black entrepreneurship. Stephannie currently serves as the Assistant Vice President for Community Impact at Greater Twin Cities United Way. She drives the development and effective implementation of operations strategy, team performance and project management initiatives for the community impact team. By thoughtfully and intentionally investing in solutions that address household stability, educational success, and economic opportunity Greater Twin Cities United Way makes a lasting and transformative impact throughout the Greater Twin Cities. On Thursday, Stephannie will showcase the organization’s impressive policy agenda, highlighting achievements in their impact areas of housing stability, educational success, and economic opportunity this year. Participants will discover how Greater Twin Cities United Way’s strategic initiatives have made a lasting impact on individuals and families.

Jesús Rubio
Government Affairs Manager
Georgia Conservation Voters

Jesús Rubio began his political involvement as a student organizer, serving as President of Young Democrats at Kennesaw State University. He then served as a campaign staffer in two separate political campaigns for the Biden-Harris Coordinated Campaign and worked as a political consultant for Providence, Rhode Island Mayor Jorge Elorza. Most recently, he served as the Georgia State Director for Mi Familia Vota and Mi Familia Vota Education Fund, where he led the state operations and advocated for Latino communities. Jesús currently serves as Government Affairs Manager at Georgia Conservation Voters, where he and his team advocate for environmental protection, organize communities, and engage in the democratic process. Georgia Conservation Voters is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for policies and practices that protect and preserve Georgia’s environment. Committed to engaging and mobilizing citizens, GCV works to ensure a sustainable and healthy future for all residents of the state. GCV recently launched its “100%” campaign, to engage community members and law makers alike on pro-environment legislation year round in Georgia. On Thursday, Jesús will provide an overview of the campaign and GCV’s work in 2024.
